The Highlands Ranch and Aurora Charitable Contribution Committees are co-sponsoring a holiday event with Make-A-Wish Colorado.
For more than 30 years, Make-A-Wish Colorado has provided an extraordinary shopping experience at Children’s Hospital Colorado where kids are invited to shop for their family members with their “wish dollars” and enjoy the magic of Santa’s workshop. Many of the kids do not have an opportunity to participate in holiday shopping due to their medical conditions, so Make-A-Wish Colorado started the Wish Store to help these kids give back to their families.
With thousands of gifts to choose from, nearly 350 Children’s Hospital Colorado patients are invited to select gifts for all of their family members, even their furry four-legged friends.
As a sponsor, volunteers from Nelnet went to a private gift-wrapping party at the Make-a-Wish offices on Nov. 12 and 13. They wrapped hundreds of presents for kids, teens, and adults in delightful holiday paper.
Thank you to Susie Trujillo, Rachel Garcia, Adrienne Essel, Brooke Freeman-Hill, Nancy Nielsen, Kathi McGuire, Terry Alley, Dianna Walter, Jo Bullinger, Nancy Stephenson, Andrew Robinson, Jennifer Underwood, and Daisha Chapman for participating.
At Nelnet, we believe that volunteering with organizations like Make-A-Wish and Children’s Hospital Colorado helps to build stronger communities. Thank you to these associates for giving back to their community!
Giving back is important — that’s why we’ve made a commitment to support our communities and encourage our associates to do the same. Visit our “Giving Back” page to see how we do it.
